One of Europe’s most influential blockchain events is taking place in Barcelona this year. Not only are we sponsoring the event, but our Chief Product Officer – Financial Services, Martin Hargreaves, will be sharing how our enterprise-grade technology is shaping a new generation of payments, alongside a number of other use cases.

On 25 and 26 of September, more than 6,000 attendees will gather at Fira Barcelona Montjuic to share ways to contribute to the acceleration of blockchain adoption. Its global audience of founders, investors, regulators, developers and corporations will cover topics ranging from tokenisation and digital assets, to payments, regulation and institutional adoption.

Our Chief Product Officer – Financial Services, Martin Hargreaves, will be joining a panel to discuss ‘How blockchain can change payments and why is it so hard?’ Joining him on stage will be Gosia Williamson from the Bank of England and Vid Hribar from Raiffeisen Bank International. Drawing on our breadth of experience working on projects like the UK’s retail CBDC experiment and the Regulated Liability Network (UK), Martin will explore how blockchain can instil programmability, automation and flexibility to historically rigid payment processes, and unlock opportunities for all industries.

The Quant team will also have a presence at the event. Visit us on stand 306 to meet with our team, who will be on hand to discuss how Europe’s commercial banks, payment firms and other financial entities can harness the power of blockchain to transform their business processes and join the blockchain economy.
