Luke joined Quant in 2019 as Head of Innovation, leading research and development for Overledger, the blockchain-agnostic API gateway that enables interoperability and the tokenisation of digital assets.

Prior to Quant, Luke spent three years at King’s College London as a Computer Science Research Associate examining decentralised voting applications, proof of stake consensus protocol and smart contracts. He also worked at the University of Liverpool as a Knowledge Transfer Associate to develop AI-based distributed systems. His specialist areas include the design and deployment of multi-chain applications: atomic swaps, cross-chain asset migrations, tokens, privacy-preserving payment systems and layer-two payment channels.

An advocate of making blockchain more accessible, Luke launched A Beginner’s Guide to Becoming a Blockchain Developer with Overledger at KCL. He is a frequent public speaker, participating in the UK’s All-Party Parliamentary Groups, author of numerous research papers on DLTs and interoperability, and in 2021, was named a Key Influencer in the Blockchain Industry by the Deep Knowledge Analytics and Big Innovation Centre.
