Following the release of Overledger no-code integrations, our Senior Ethereum Developer, Cathal Mac Fadden, demonstrates how to create your first Overledger zap.

In this demo, you will learn how to use our webhooks to add security to your transactions. Webhooks trigger instant notifications to your chosen email or messaging provider, whenever a transaction occurs on your selected account address.

Overledger’s integration on Zapier allows you to create complex systems without costly hosting expenses. Now, you can avoid long-term development tasks and eliminate the need for API services, databases, and DLT nodes.

How is it done?
By using the Overledger trigger in Zapier called “New Account Event”, you can subscribe to a specific DLT address. Whenever your specified address is involved in a transaction, the Zap process will begin.

Once we receive the trigger in the Zap, you can perform subsequent actions using any of the thousands of existing actions available in the Zapier ecosystem, including all of the Overledger API actions. Watch the full demo below to learn more.

Similarly, you can also use the “New Contract Event” to trigger an event whenever a smart contract emits an event. This security feature enables users to monitor when certain events occur, such as a change of ownership or the minting of new assets.

Using the integration lets you combine this ability with thousands of other Zapier actions and triggers, to create a powerful application that is both activated and powered by DLT activity and data.

Your next steps
To prepare for this, you will need a (free) Overledger account, which you can create easily here. Once you’re set up, visit your Zapier account and use the template we prepared, or create your own!
